Parent Partnership

A fundamental part of our beliefs is communication, primarily strong links between home and preschool and the communication between staff and parents/carers. This relationship is facilitated through a steady stream of information from our management, staff and administrator to parents/carers via e-mail, daily/weekly journals, newsletters, Tapestry online learning journals, and an open-door policy for any and all questions and concerns.

Our educators build a fuller picture of each child by sitting alongside them, playing, talking, observing, and listening to feedback from you.
We will be adding comments to home observations and capturing key moments in each child's learning journey.
Parents and carers are not simply being told what preschool has observed; we want a genuine conversation that moves in both directions.
Those exchanges may appear simple, but they communicate something powerful: what you notice at home matters at preschool too.

Sharing information helps connect the child who is still warming up at school with the child you see when they are relaxed, confident, and completely themselves.
It allows our educators to notice patterns, interests, strengths, and changes across both environments rather than building an understanding from isolated moments in the classroom.
This is what a meaningful partnership feels like: not information sent in one direction, but families and educators working together, each bringing a different and valuable part of the picture.
No single adult sees the whole child all of the time. But when home and school listen to one another, the picture becomes richer, fairer, and far more complete.

Cygnets Preschool aims to work in partnership with parent/carers, practitioners from other settings and school staff to share information about the child and what support he or she may need.
